Low Self-Esteem Challenge Part 2!

Spread the love

How is your low self-esteem after doing the first part of the challenge, my friend?

Are you ready for Challenge #2?

No Low Self-Esteem Zone

It’s Time to Change that Low Self-Esteem.

Last week, in the 3 O’Clock Wednesday blog, I challenged you to fight against low self-esteem. To recap, all you need to do is adopt an empowering mantra and say it daily.

My personal mantra is “I Am Lilly, I Am Strong!”

I am Lilly. I am strong! — This saying has gotten me through many tough days. Even when I don’t feel particularly strong (or even as weak as an overcooked noodle), whispering to myself a mantra of intentional support is incredibly invigorating.

I wrote this mantra down on a small piece of paper and have it by my bedside. I see it and say it to myself every morning and every evening.

That was your first challenge: come up with your own personal mantra and say it to yourself daily. If you have trouble picking one, you can always use mine!

Fighting Low Self-Esteem On The Next Level

Now that you have your mantra let’s put it to use!

Pick a time of day that is personally great for boosting self-confidence. That might be before you walk through your workplace doorway or right after you drop your kids off at daycare. Maybe there is a person in your life who tends to tear you down every time you meet. Or there is a challenge you are dealing with that makes you feel inept. Whatever makes you feel like your confidence takes a hit with every encounter, focus a spotlight on that time…

…and make the plan to pause to chant your mantra right before you take that hit.

For me, that time is before I get in my car to start my day. For some reason, driving in the car allows negative self-talk to flood my mind and color the rest of my day.

I have trained myself to pause right before I turn the ignition and say my mantra. “I am Lilly. I am strong!” That boost makes an incredible difference to my mindset. By starting off with positivity, my mind is much less likely to wander through the pasture of negative thoughts. I feel much more equipped to handle the day’s stresses.

All because of one little sentence!

Your Turn

It’s your turn now. Here is your guide map utilizing your personal mantra:

  1. Identify a regular occurrence that triggers a plummet in your self-confidence.
  2. Intentionally pause to say your mantra right before you encounter the trigger.

That’s it! Super easy.

As soon as I get into my car, I whisper my mantra to myself. It’s a practice that has become natural. Even better, it has become empowering! The main thing to remember is to be intentional about it. Your mantra will not help much if you don’t use it.

Do You Accept The Challenge?

If so, here is what you need to do for the next week:

  1. Use your mantra before meeting a known trigger

That’s it! Do it every day…or even multiple times in a day. Use that personal mantra as a powerful shield to protect your tender confidence. Let the positivity shower down on you like a rainstorm of powerful groundedness. You can do it!
