Are you feeling drained and weary? You aren’t alone. For this week’s 3 O’clock Wednesday I dare you to imitate the example of the sea turtle and recharge your power supply today!

I recently had a life-changing opportunity to go to Hawaii. The absolute, hands-down highlight of my trip was watching the sea turtles wash ashore each sunset.

The turtles, drained and weary from a long day of constantly swimming through turbulent waves, dodging dangerous rocks, and avoiding predators, roll up to the shore to sleep at night.

They are so exhausted that they rely on the strength of the waves to propel them toward rest.

Washed ashore, these magnificent sea creatures simply fall asleep right where the last wave deposits them; they don’t have the strength to go any further than necessary. It’s as if they do not have an extra ounce of energy left in their body, even for the sake of survival.

Do you ever feel like that? I know I do.

In fact, sometimes I feel as though the weariness will overtake me and I am in danger of not making it all the way to shore. How heartbreaking it would be to see the shore but not have the ability to gain access to that glorious rest and peace.

Self-Care

If that’s not your style, indulge in a captivating book – an adventure for your soul. And don’t underestimate the power of a good old pampering session – a bubble bath, soothing music, and some essential oils to transport you to a realm of tranquility.

You deserve all the love and care you readily give to others. So, this week, let’s affirm your uniqueness, let’s embrace your beautiful imperfections, and let’s prioritize self-care like it’s the most important appointment on your calendar. Because it is.
